TGIF: Virtual Yard Sale

Y'all ready to kick off the weekend early with some bargain shopping?  :)

Below you'll find the offerings--keep scrolling because there's nearly 40 listings. Hope you see something that strikes your fancy!

If you have any questions, or if you'd like to purchase anything, email me directly at carolinacountryliving@gmail.com.

I'll mark the item(s) ON HOLD for (Your Name) on this page when they're spoken for. I'll then go to the P.O. for shipping quotes the first of the week (let me know if you'd like insurance or delivery confirmation) and I'll email folks with their totals.

Payment is preferred via Paypal, but USPS money orders are accepted, as are personal checks. Items paid for with checks will be held until the check clears.

Once payment is made for a given item, it will be marked as SOLD.

Of course, if you're local and don't need to bother with shipping, we can make arrangements for pick-up instead!

Who's Ready to Shop?

After the positive feedback from Tuesday's post, I've decided to go ahead and hold a virtual sale here on the blog starting at 2 p.m. EDT tomorrow, Friday the 29th.

Sorry for the sort-of weird time, but I have errands to run part of the day, then dinner to go to in the evening, and I want to be home when the sale kicks off!

I've photographed all the goodies and just need to take some measurements so you'll have an idea of how big (or little) some of this stuff is.

The offerings will include:
-pillows
-reproduction and vintage tins
-milk glass
-enamelware
-shabby painted wood items
-glassware
-vintage wood hangers
-soy candles
-and more!

And prices will be good!  I want all this stuff to find new homes...

Well, I better call it a night, but I will leave you with this photo I took back in June, when we weren't roasting *and* boiling in all this summer heat, and I still had access to beautiful, unwithered hydrangeas.

Aren't I nice to make this an online sale instead of an in-person one with the peak heat and humidity central North Carolina offers this time of year?  :)

Hope to "see" you tomorrow!

Hey, Local Peeps

I'm purging at my house this week.

Closets are being decluttered, drawers are being emptied, bag after bag of trash is going to the dump, and there is a growing pile of stuff destined for Goodwill.

This summer cleaning is quite satisfying!

However, I did end up keeping two pieces that didn't sell from last weekend's Vintage Market.

The formerly schoolbus-yellow coffee table is now in my living room since we've been without a coffee table for quite some time.  I was reading the latest Sookie Stackhouse book over the weekend and needed a place to prop my feet.  Once I moved the coffee table over to the rug, it just worked and now I like having it there.  I need another horizontal surface to decorate on anyway...ha!

And the pickled oak bowfront dresser didn't find a new home. I'll admit,  I wasn't too disappointed that it didn't sell.

And then my husband kept telling me about how great it'd look in the guest bedroom...so...that's where it now resides.

Since I am trying to stay true to the spirit of this purge despite my husband undermining me, I've listed a few other pieces on Craigslist to make way for the new stuff--and I thought they might be of interest to local readers.

Click on the photos to be taken directly to the respective ads:

End table painted in Annie Sloan Duck Egg chalk paint

Shabby Depression-era dresser with casters and amazing details

And I can't decide whether this is tacky, but I still have enough knicky knacky stuff left over from the Vintage Market that I was thinking of just offering it to y'all here on the blog.  I know I should probably just set up an Etsy shop, but I'm lazy focused on purging at the moment.

Anybody interested in a virtual yard sale? :)

Vintage Market or Bust!

I've been a busy bee the last few weeks as I prepare for tomorrow's Vintage Market at Nest in Burlington, NC.

Of course, furniture painting has been involved and these are the pieces I'm taking.

Pickled/white-washed oak five-drawer dresser with clay knobs from Vintage Skye on the top drawer

Creamy white coffee table that was previously school bus yellow--yikes!

End table painted in Annie Sloan's Duck Egg Blue

Set of four Depression-era dining room chairs also painted with chalk paint (Old White) - seats re-covered in osnaburg

And the last furniture piece has a funny story behind it...

Last weekend, my husband and son were laying in our bed watching TV. And then the bed spontaneously broke!

Unfortunately, the bed rail separated from the headboard in such a way that a repair wasn't feasible. But the footboard was still salvageable and so I turned it into a hefty beach-inspired chalkboard.

Candles have also been made.

Citrus Cooler soy candle

Candles, boxed and ready to go!

And I just finished pricing a bunch of odds and ends like glassware, pillows, enamelware, frames and painted wood shelves.

Better get to bed because I have a lot to pack into the truck tomorrow morning!

-Erin

P.S.--Thank you for sticking around while I post less frequently this summer.  Your comments and emails have been so kind and supportive--I truly appreciate it!
